What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

On GLP-s or Considering Them? Why Your Gut Still Matters

GLP-1 medications have become one of the most discussed health tools in recent years. Whether someone is prescribed them for blood sugar regulation, appetite control, or metabolic support, these medications can play a helpful role for the right patient under the right medical guidance.

But there’s an important part of the conversation that often gets overlooked:

Your gut health still plays a central role in how you feel — and how your body functions — even when you’re on a GLP-1.

As a physician, I spend a great deal of time helping patients understand how GLP-1s and the digestive system interact, and why gut support remains essential on any health journey.

Let’s break this down clearly and simply.

How GLP-1s Affect Digestion

GLP-1 medications mimic a naturally occurring hormone that helps regulate appetite, blood sugar, and digestion.
One of the key effects is slowed gastric emptying, meaning food stays in the stomach longer.

This can be helpful for appetite control — but it also comes with digestive changes many people aren’t prepared for.

Common experiences include:

  • Bloating or fullness
  • Slower digestion
  • Irregularity
  • Mild nausea, especially early on
  • Shifts in appetite and nutrient intake

These effects aren’t harmful, but they are meaningful.
Your gut has to adapt — and supporting it can make the transition smoother.

A woman lies on a couch, resting on her stomach, with her arms extended and a relaxed expression on her face.
GLP-1s work by affecting metabolism and digestion, which can have some side effects that are uncomfortable, even though they generally aren’t harmful.

Why Gut Health Still Matters (Even More Than Before)

1. Nutrient Absorption Becomes Even More Important

When appetite decreases, nutrient intake often decreases too.
That means your gut needs to be as effective as possible at absorbing what you do consume.

A healthy gut = better nutrient uptake = more stable energy and wellbeing.

2. Slower Gut Motility Needs Balanced Support

Because GLP-1s naturally slow digestion, supporting healthy motility can help maintain comfort and regularity.

Prebiotics and probiotics can help support microbial balance that keeps digestion smoother and more predictable.

3. Your Gut Drives Immunity

Roughly 70% of the immune system is housed in the gut.
If gut balance becomes disrupted — whether from dietary changes, medication shifts, or stress — immunity can be affected too.

Supporting gut flora helps keep your immune defenses strong.

4. Gut Health Influences Mood & Motivation

Through the gut-brain axis, digestive health plays a major role in:

  • Mood
  • Stress response
  • Motivation
  • Cognitive clarity

A supported gut often leads to a clearer mind — which is essential when building long-term habits.

5. You Feel Better When Your Gut Is in Balance

Ultimately, whether on GLP-1s or not, people want the same things:
Less discomfort. More regularity. Better digestion. More consistent energy.

Gut support helps create that foundation.

What I Recommend for Patients on (or Considering) GLP-1s

When someone begins a GLP-1 or is exploring it, I emphasize a few key steps:

Support beneficial gut bacteria

With probiotics that help maintain balance as digestion slows.

Feed those bacteria

With prebiotics that help them survive and thrive.

Reinforce gut barrier strength

With postbiotics, which support the integrity of the gut lining and help reduce digestive stress.

This is exactly why I created Total Gut Complex — to combine these three essentials into one simple daily system rather than requiring multiple pills or guessing at ratios.

For many people, this becomes a foundational tool for comfort and consistency.

Final Thoughts: Gut Health Is Always Step One

GLP-1s may influence appetite and metabolic pathways, but your gut remains central to how you feel, how you digest, and how you function every day.

If you're on a GLP-1, thinking about starting one, or simply trying to improve your overall wellbeing, supporting your gut is one of the most meaningful steps you can take.

Small, consistent habits — including gut support — create the foundation for long-term success.
